ARRL Field Day Contest Log 4.9 & School Club Roundup Next Week!

Home News

Good Morning All,

ARRL Field Day Contest Log 4.9 is Now Available!

ARRL just released their 2016 Field Day Packet, which introduces two new bonus point categories for promoting your Field Day site via Social Media and designating a Safety Officer:

I've updated the Field Day software accordingly. While I was at it, since most of us now submit our Field Day entries via http://www.b4h.net/cabforms/ and earn the extra bonus points for submitting on line, I've added a button at the top of the submittal form that will summarize the information you'll need for that online form and take you directly to the web site.

As always, upgrades are free to registered users. You'll find Field Day Contest Log 4.9 here.

ARRL School Club Roundup Reminder!

Next week, beginning February 8th, we will hear lots of Schools and Clubs on the air during School Club Roundup week, so please be sure to work as many Schools and Clubs as you can! And don't forget, individuals can work other individuals for SCR points too, so work everyone calling CQ SCR!

Each school is worth 5 multipliers and clubs who are not affiliated with schools are worth two multipliers, so clubs, please be sure to get on the air too!

Individuals, don't be afraid to call CQ SCR, as some students are more comfortable searching and pouncing than running a frequency. Let's be sure to give the students plenty of stations to call!

The complete rules are here.

And the software for this contest, which is free for everyone (no registration required at all) is here.

And speaking of social Media, you'll find the new School Club Roundup Facebook Group here:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/SchoolClubRoundup/

Of course, School Club Round is super for students and clubs, but this event is a lot of fun for individuals too. In addition to working as many schools and clubs on as many bands and modes as you can, set some other goals too. Can you make at least one SCR contact in every state and province next week for a clean sweep?

All, I have a special place in my heart for contests like Field Day and School Club Roundup. At 14 years old, I was introduced to Amateur Radio at a Field Day site. That one evening profoundly changed the course of my life. Had I not been given the kind encouragement and experienced the thrill and excitement of operating from the bottom of a pile up, I would very likely be doing something else right now and N3FJP Software would never have come to be. Let's be sure to give these young folks all the encouragement and as many QSOs as we possibly can next week!

And in response to the questions we always receive when we neglect to include the following in our e-mail announcements...

Package Upgrade Information...

If you have registered one or more individual programs and would like to upgrade to N3FJP's Software Package or N3FJP's Software Package and CD for full use of all our Amateur Radio software, we would be glad to apply the amount that you have registered so far as a credit towards that purchase. Please send us an e-mail directly and we'll let you know your balance.

N3FJP's Software Package includes nearly 90 programs for contesting, net management, general logging and other Amateur Radio related applications. In addition to full use of all these programs, registered package customers are also entitled to receive free passwords for any new software that is added to the package and free upgrades to existing programs. You'll find all the details on the Register Now page at www.n3fjp.com.

Donations are Gratefully Accepted!

And in response to the often asked question for which Kimberly and I are very grateful...

"I know your upgrades are free, but I also realize how much time and effort coding these enhancements and new programs take and that your pricing policy doesn't fully reflect that. Can I send you something to show my appreciation for your continued efforts?"

Yes, thanks so much, your continued support in any amount is very welcome and deeply appreciated! You can use this page:

As always, thanks for your kind words, support, linking to our web site and spreading the word about our software. Kimberly and I really appreciate it!
