State QSO Party, Digital Upgrades and More!

Home News

Hi All,

Happy New Year! After a lot of hard work, I have some good N3FJP Software announcements to kickoff 2019!

State QSO Party Program Enhancements Complete!

The following enhancements, already released in the ARRL and CQ contest programs in September, are now in all of the State QSO Party programs, too:

- Added CW Tab Sends Message (TSM) feature (press Ctrl + Shift + G from the main form to enable / disable).
- Additional DX Spotting menu items including spot on entry, jump to next spot on entry, band map, and large DX spots form.
- Fire rig internal memories from F keys in CW mode when CW keying option not selected.
- Flex - feed Flex DX spots as received via their API.

You'll find lots more explanation on each of these new features here.

In addition, North Carolina in and out of state have been updated for their digital rule change.

As always, upgrades for all these programs are free to registered users. You'll find the upgrade steps here.

JTAlert 2.12.10 is Available for Download - New N3FJP Contest Logging!

Laurie, VK3AMA, author of JTAlert, which interfaces several digital programs, including WSJT-X with my software writes:

Major new feature is the support for logging WSJT-X 2.0.0 contest QSOs (RTTY Roundup, NA VHF & Field Day contests only) to N3FJP Contest loggers. See the JTAlert Help file, "Tutorials -> N3FJP Contest Logs Logging" topic.

Visit https://HamApps.com for the download link and upgrade/install instructions.

New Versions of All Programs with Digital Component are Now Available!

To make it easier for digital programs, including JTAlert, to interface with my software, I've added a new API command, CONTESTEX to all my contest software that includes a digital element. Programs updated include:

ARRL Field Day Contest Log 6.0 (JTAlert 2.12.10 has been updated for this program!)
ARRL Kids Day Log 3.0
ARRL Rookie Roundup Contest Log 2.0
ARRL RTTY Round-Up Contest Log 3.6 (JTAlert 2.12.10 has been updated for this program!)
ARRL School Club Roundup Contest Log 2.2
CQ World Wide DX RTTY Contest Log 2.1
CQ WPX Contest Log 4.6
VHF Contest Log (ARRL & CQ) 6.3 (JTAlert 2.12.10 has been updated for this program!)

10-10 QSO Party Log 4.4
Africa International DX Contest Log 2.0
Italian A.R.I. International DX Contest Log 2.0
Jamboree on the Air Log 2.0
NA Sprint Contest CW & RTTY Log 4.8
NAQP Contest Log 5.0
State QSO Party Logs
Winter Field Day 2.4
Worked All Europe Contest Log 2.0

There is no need to upgrade to these very latest versions unless you are planning to run JTAlert for ARRL RTTY, VHF or ARRL Field Day. Until Laurie and / or other digital program authors add support for more of these programs using the new CONTESTEX API call, there isn't a need to upgrade the rest right now. Please note that several digital programs including FLDigi, PSK Express and N7YG Digital Engine already support many or all of my contest applications via other API calls.

As always, upgrades for all these programs are free to registered users. You'll find the upgrade steps here.

Winter Field Day Preparation!

Based on all the e-mail and questions I'm receiving regarding Winter Field Day, this event's popularity is continuing to surge! These tips, written with ARRL's summer classic in mind, are all applicable to the winter version too. If you are planning to participate in Winter Field Day, please take a minute now and review these tips and reminders.

You'll find the Winter Field Day rules here.

And the software for Winter Field Day here.

And in response to the questions we always receive when we neglect to include the following in our e-mail announcements...

Donations are Gratefully Accepted!

And in response to the often asked question for which Kimberly and I are very grateful...

"I know your upgrades are free, but I also realize how much time and effort coding these enhancements and new programs take and that your pricing policy doesn't fully reflect that. Can I send you something to show my appreciation for your continued efforts?"

Yes, thanks so much, your continued support in any amount is very welcome and deeply appreciated! You can use this page:
