N3FJP Software Program Help

Amateur Contact Log

Field Day Contest Log

Welcome to the N3FJP Software help section! The pages that follow cover both Amateur Contact Log and my contesting software.

If you feel you have a basic question that you suspect others are likely asking, you might want to first take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, where I've summarized all the questions that we routinely receive. If you don't find what you are looking for there, come back here for more details.

To make it easier to find help, we've created pages for each of the major menu options. Just click on the menu option above for more information. For example, if you want to learn what File > New does in the software, click the File menu option above.

You'll find other menu items and features consolidated under the Additional and Tutorials headings.

Not every program will have all the options presented here. For example, only Amateur Contact Log will upload to LoTW and eQSL directly. That said, most of the programs are quite similar, so we've compiled all the relevant information in these pages.

In adition to these detailed pages, here are two quick start, overview videos I created for folks brand new to Amateur Contact Log and my contesting software. These videos only cover the very basics, but they give you plenty to get started and you'll find lots more details in these help pages as well!

Contesting Software (Field Day software used in this example, but all contesting programs work similarly)

The best way to learn is by doing, so please don't start here. Experiment with the software, give the options a try and see what happens. If you need additional clarification after that, this is the place to visit!

An older, less complete source of help is the Definitive Guide to Amateur Contact Log. This guide, generously written by Amateur Contact Log users in 2003 for the features the software contained at that time, still has many applicable sections and expands a bit on the more concise approach that we've taken with our web based help pages.
